FRINGE AND TRIBE SPACE: Despite massive panic Sorrow's threats appeared to have been empty. No worlds have reported bombs or explosions. The inhabitants of Eclipse released a transmission burst claiming responsibility for the defeat of Sorrow, however no other proof has been offered for the dissolution of the terrorist organization Sons of Sorrow.
VAIRYA - The business world was shaken this week by the news of the unexpected death of G'Kili Na'Lon Keresik, who passed quietly on her private estate on Haven this weekend. Cause of death is being attributed to heart failure. G'Kili (known as G.N. to her associates) was the Chief Intelligence Officer of Keresik Armouries, as well as being on their Board of Directors. She was also one of the candidates being considered to replace her nephew J'Toth Keresik on the High Council of Elders, after his disappearance. It has not been announced who will be taking her place on the Keresik Board. Also, no word on the location of the fugitive Councilmember Keresik, although gossip blogs point to his location on Middian.
VAITARANI - Expolsions rocked a deserted Keresik Armories factory this past weekend, utterly destroying the abandoned plant. The local corporations on Vaitarani have not claimed any damage to personnel or property.
TRITA - Negotiations are on hold as diplomats return from Middian and have secluded themselves in chambers to discuss new developments with their teams. The Dahhak made surprising concessions to the Nasu and agreed for a cease fire on Asha to allow both sides to seek more peaceful solutions to their arguments. Asu Dagir, head of the Nasu diplomat team has brought forth the nessecity of amendments to the Treaty of Tantive in light of the Ahramni threat, tentative negotiations are currently underway.

MISSING SCIENTIST’S LAST DAY?

Wife continues to search.
Myrena Lorani wondered where her husband was.
David’s research was ever important to him, and not just because of his almost dogged loyalty to FallTech; the science of nature intrigued him. Talking about it genuinely made him happy. She remembered a time before he was hired by FallTech, though – a time when Dr. David Lorani was a poor graduate and struggling to get his foot in the door. None of the major corporations wanted a zoologist; Myrena knew this and David knew this, and yet he chose his path anyway. She supported him because he was always loyal – to her, to any cause he decided to take up, to his friends and family. Loyalty defined who he was.
Myrena remembered the stories David told her of his childhood, how he always preferred to be outside, under the night sky; how his father had the hardest time keeping him inside during the rare rainstorms. David Lorani grew up loving the wild, loving nature, and loving Myrena, for she was one of the few people in his life to embrace David for what he was, rather than abuse his kindness and loyalty. “Animals are honest, at least,” David would often say, “even if you have to learn how to read them. People will just lie to you.”
Of course, that time had come to an end, and once more, his loyalty – and his dreams – were being used against him once more. David had always wanted to grow closer to the beasts he loved – “What if you could grow gills like a fish, and swim in the ocean? Or wings, like a bird, and fly? What would stop you from exploring your world?” – and FallTech gave him his chance to realize that dream. They hired David to assist, and eventually head, research into a drug capable of imbuing the imbiber with bestial qualities and features. They underpaid him and overworked him, but he didn’t care; he was so focused on his research that he often forgot to eat or sleep. Myrena had the cot removed that David had brought into the lab. Myrena was happy for her husband, that he was so close to realizing his dream, but really…
…where was he? The cot stood empty next to her; he hadn’t taken it back to the lab (again). She tried his comm, got nothing. Myrena had just gotten up to go to the lab and drag her husband home when it rang.
“Mrs. Lorani?”
The voice was somewhat familiar – it was Dr. Jonathan Greitz, who was in charge of the FallTech satellite office on Tyranis. It was not a happy-sounding voice.
“I don’t think Dr. Lorani will be coming home tonight.”

HEROIC "WAR BEES" DEFEND TARANIS
Zigani Soldiers Swarmed

An amazing story has emerged from the fierce fighting to repel Zigani invaders from the planet Taranis. An unknown defender of the planet has released a swarm of armored "War Bees" to drive the Zigani from Fringe territory!
The elite, genetically modified bees are protected by armored carapaces that are impervious to ordinary swatting. They are fitted with tiny gps devices and rumored to be controlled by a handler, though it is not clear whether the control is technological or psionic, or even who the mysterious handler may be. Other reports say that the bees are trained to sniff out explosives, search for hidden enemies, and attack on command!
FNF staff members interviewed Jonas Faern, a local man who claimed to have witnessed the swarm in action from atop a nearby building:
No official confirmation of these swarms has been made, but it seems likely that such a weapon would be kept a secret.
Missing Scientist
Dr David LoraniOne source has speculated that the bees are the work of noted Taranis researcher Dr. David Lorani, former employee of Falltech industries, who was rumored to have been working on something “revolutionary”, involving animal genetics, before his mysterious disappearance and an explosion in his lab. Lorani's wife could not be reached for comment, but prior to the Zigani invasion, she was actively seeking information on his whereabouts.

DOOMED SHIPS MARKED BY DARK MAGIC?
CURSED SEAS OF VAJRA - Story Update!

The Fringe Newsfeed reported last month on the mysterious disappearance of ships in the waters near the Varja city of Voreko and eye-witness accounts of strange apparitions in the sky.
More recent reports say that normal weather has returned to that region, and that local CEO, Eric Bransen, of Kagome Shipping led an expedition to search for the lost. Bransen’s group found the wreckage of twenty-two ships, including seven that had not previously been reported missing. Only fourty three survivors were recovered, clinging to a reef and close to death. over 1,500 other sailors are still missing, now presumed dead.
Mack Headen, recovery diver for Kagome Shipping, reports on what he found in the sunken ships:
The rescued survivors were found in a near-comatose state and are currently hospitalised. FNF attempts to interview them or get statements were unsuccessful, though we are told that their condition is slowly improving. Medical staff did admit that other than the effects of exposure, the doctors can find no explanation for the symptoms. One unnamed source said that, “none of the survivors can really talk, but a few mumble about ‘SHADOWS’.”

Will Deewon: Corporate Candidate or Zigany Sellout?
The earthquake-prone planet Naraka may see other troubling tremors soon, in the form of an ugly political shakeup. The Naraka Board of Directors is due to hold a new election soon, and a new dark horse candidate, Will Deewon of Kandel Ceramics, is rapidly gaining favor amongst the Board Members, but what does the public really know about this gladhanding hopeful?
Current Chairman Lei Cha Vong of Orpheon has reportedly turned away Zigany diplomats who approached him looking to establish a permanent Zigany envoy on the planet. As reported previously by the FNF, these alien clones have designs on taking over Fringe planets and stealing our children.
Deewon, however has been spotted meeting in secret with Zigany diplomats, undoubtedly promising them Fringer children to experiment on if they will help him win the election! He has publicly expressed interest in more official negotiations with Zigany should he win the upcoming election.
Deewon was also previously a lawyer for the Canto Group, who were connected to the Cadix “Zombie Virus” outbreak on Eclipse a few years ago. Who knows what Zigany scientists could cook up between advanced mutations and the Cadix virus? Perhaps they are planning to create a zombie mutant army to put at the Zigany’s disposal to fight the Empire?

MEURLAIN CONTROL OF IMPERIAL STOCK MARKET EXPOSED!

In my short life I had thought I had seen it all. I was a believer that the stock market finds the best price of a stock pending all of the information that is presently known. Now I stand in disgust after listening to Juras Huron explain how he, and many other hedge fund operators, move the market on a daily basis. However What I found most interesting is how he made it so clear that the talking heads on financial vids and web burst transmissions are in bed with Meurlain hedge fund managers. I have always questioned some of the Meurlain who sit and talk the market up and down on a near daily basis but until now, I did not understand the reason. But when you hear it from Juras’ mouth that hedge fund managers literally call up the Meurlain to show them some evidence of a market movement that the Meurlain himself has created - that was the final straw.
As can be seen by the most recent brain scans of the typical Imperial Hedge Fund Manager (subjects name anonymous to protect source) the frontal cortex and impulse areas have been affected by chemicals responding directly neuron dampening chemicals.
What does this all mean? First a brief explanation on Corporations and Hedge Funds. Sociologist, author, and financial journalist Alfred W. Kree is credited with the creation of the first hedge fund approximately 120 years ago. Kree believed that changes in asset prices can be attributed partly to factors specific to the asset in question and partly to trends in the market as a whole. To neutralize the effect of overall market movement, he balanced his portfolio by buying assets whose price he expected to increase in the future, relative to the overall performance of the market, and selling short assets whose price he expected to decrease. He saw that price movements due to the overall market would balance out because, if the overall market rose, the loss on shorted assets would be cancelled by the additional gain on longed assets and vice-versa. By taking this approach his investment strategy was market neutral, as returns depended only on him picking the right stock, not on whether the stock market went up or down. Kree referred to his fund as being "hedged" to describe how the fund managed risk exposure from overall market movement. This type of portfolio became known as a hedge fund.
This translated to a large group of private investors from the major houses investing money in their own and other house corporations. This was seen as a good thing since this should have stimulated all the houses to ensure the success of all houses. What occurred shortly after, was the understanding that in selling high amounts of another corporation’s stocks could cause a ripple effect that would weaken the stock price of a corporation. The innate greed of most high level House investors has off set this, even in times of inter-house feuding. But a survey of past investments shows an abnormal amount of good grace among Hedge Fund managers.
The truth has finally been revealed, with each house having a cadre of Meurlain in their “employee” the role of the guide becomes blurred. It has been proven that Meurlain have used mental psionic as well as hypno-therapy and outright drug control methods to influence these hedge fund managers, thus controlling the stock prices, and thus controlling the corporations. As you can see from the analysis below, even with overall movement in the market, all trends remain within stabilized forecasts, a virtual impossibility without outside manipulation. It is no wonder the Meurlain need no standing army, they have the entire Imperial Banking and Commerce system in the palm of their hands (or test tubes).

How long have the Murelain held such a tight control over the finances of the Imperium? What have they been doing with these funds? How long will this control continue? How dependent are the Imperials on these psionic drugs?
These are questions beyond the scope of this article. One thing is certain, no one has seen the end of this.
